A few years ago, there was a hype around emulsified diesel (water + diesel), which was said to save energy and be environmentally friendly; it seems to have disappeared rather quickly due to technical issues. Recently, this technology has been promoted again; it is said to be of Japanese origin. After emulsification, the diesel becomes transparent, and it offers significant energy-saving and environmental benefits. Could those familiar with this industry please share their views on the progress of emulsified diesel technology?

If they were really good, then foreigners would be fools – they’d all follow Lei Feng’s example and use them exclusively for the Chinese, leaving them unused by foreigners themselves. What’s more, some people claim that emulsified diesel is transparent; they don’t even understand the true meaning of emulsification. If it’s transparent, then how can it still be called emulsified? Look at who are the people involved in those things I basically have no understanding of the law of conservation of energy, let alone chemical thermodynamics.
The person upstairs doesn’t know whether you truly understand emulsified diesel. As you said, emulsified diesel is opaque, but it is used in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and especially Italy. I’ll mention a few brands here: PuriNOx diesel from Lubrizol in the United States, Aquazole water-emulsified fuel oil from TotalEnergies in France, and Gecam emulsified diesel from Italy – you can give them a look. However, since most people in China, just like that person upstairs, lack technical knowledge, research in China focuses more on microemulsified diesel. I conducted research on this during my graduate studies, and it was tested on some vehicles with fairly good results, though there are still some issues that need to be addressed.
