I’m seeking advice from experts: what causes the popcorn-like appearance at the bottom of silicon rods? The lower part of our silicon rods has developed severe popcorn-like defects, and the diameter of these rods is very uneven. I would like to ask the experts what could be causing this issue – is it related to the structure of the reaction furnace itself? ? ? ?
Personal opinion: The appearance of corn kernels on the silicon rods is due, on one hand, to excessively high reaction temperatures, and on the other hand, it is related to the mol ratio as well. Generally, when the mol ratio is high, the silicon rod is more dense and has a smoother surface; otherwise, it is less dense and rougher. Furthermore, excessive air intake leads to intense scouring, resulting in the production of high concentrations of HCl, which causes etching and can also lead to cornflower formation. In fact, a proper nozzle design can solve many problems.
I agree with what was said above: first, the temperature is too high, and there’s also an issue with the distribution of the material! !
