Help: How to implement data backup for the I/A`S system?

How to back up 50 series I/A`S system data to a portable hard drive? The industrial computer does not have the corresponding interfaces, but a gateway machine is connected; can the backed-up data be copied directly to the gateway machine? I’d like to thank everyone here first; please provide detailed responses, :lol and it’s best if there are steps included.
The data can first be backed up to AW and then copied to a PC via a switch, or it can be copied from AW to WP and transferred to the PC through an Ethernet cable; Sun workstations do not support mounting external hard drives.
On Unix workstations, the crontab and at commands can be used to schedule the execution of programs; it is also convenient to use these tools to run system backup programs that one has written themselves.
