If the water content in the methanol in the thermal regeneration tower is high, it is necessary to increase the amount of pre-washed methanol accordingly, while also adjusting the operation of the extractor, increasing the flow rate to the azeotrope tower and to the water separation tower, and paying attention to controlling the temperatures at the bottom and top of the towers. By increasing the pre-washing volume, it is possible to appropriately increase the absorption of methanol in the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower, as the gas-phase load increases due to the enhanced pre-washing, thereby preventing the hydrogen sulfide level from exceeding limits.
