Dear sea friends, I have only started working recently and there are still many things I don’t understand. When drawing construction drawings, how is the specific installation location of valves determined? Are there any requirements? What is an appropriate distance for a valve from elbows and tees? The installation of valves must first meet the requirements of the process, with the installation location and height being such as to facilitate operation. If the valve is flanged, the flange can be directly welded to pipe fittings such as elbows and tees. Gate valves and check valves can be connected directly; for other valves that require operation, the spacing between them must ensure that the valve handles do not interfere with each other’s operation. Additionally, valves of larger size are relatively heavy, so it is necessary to provide support in areas where many valves are located. Large-size valve stems are also longer; when placed horizontally, care must be taken to ensure they do not block the passage, and when placed vertically, attention must be paid to the issues related to operation.
