Everyone, when I was trying to enter the actual boiling point (TBP) data of crude oil, the information I had available was not complete crude oil evaluation data. The yield for oils at temperatures up to 540℃ is only given; the yield for residue at temperatures above 540℃ is not specified (see table below). How should this be handled in Pro II? proⅡ will extend according to the trend you provided earlier until it reaches 100%; therefore, providing too few data points will lead to severe distortion of the data.
Thank you all. Most of the reports provided nowadays are similar TBP reports, so will there be deviations in the values obtained through this simulation?
PRO/II performs extrapolation based on established empirical algorithms in the database, which have been tested with various types of oils; however, there will inevitably be differences compared to our actual oils. The TBP data should be relatively accurate; if it is converted into other distillation curves in the program, the error will increase.
Consider using the crude oil evaluation database of H/CAMS to extrapolate and generate yield curves.
In pro2, it is possible to customize the cutting of components beyond 540 degrees, as long as the TBP curve remains relatively smooth without any sharp increases.
It doesn’t matter much; Pro will handle it on its own.
