I have been working for over a year now, and recently the company applied for the title of assistant engineer for us. I have many questions and hope that those with more experience will be kind enough to advise me: 1. Can my title as an assistant engineer be used in the field related to the design of pressure vessels?； But I’m not sure if it’s possible to fill in the section for pressure pipeline design Is it necessary to apply for an assistant engineer certificate for pressure pipelines in order to sign off on their design? I don’t even check job websites, sigh! 2. The company has taken away all our assistant engineer certificates; we can no longer see them ； So what should we do if we want to change jobs? Can I go to the Personnel Bureau now to apply for an assistant engineer title, without having the company do the application? I also hope the senior can give some advice; I would be extremely grateful. (As a side note: it’s essential to copy the text first before posting – I’ve done this twice already, and it’s frustrating.)
An assistant engineer title is general in nature; one can apply for it one year after graduating with a bachelor’s degree, and it’s quite easy to obtain. The certificate states “Engineering Assistant Engineer,” with no distinction based on specialty.
Once you have an assistant, the company should include you in the design quality assurance system
I can’t answer the first question because I don’t understand pipeline design either. As for the second question, if your certificate gets lost, you can go to the professional title office (the personnel bureau) after you leave to obtain a new one. It’s recorded there
Units where employees have worked for one year after graduating from an undergraduate program, or three years after graduating from a junior college program, can organize applications for the title of assistant engineer. This certificate isn’t very useful; the company keeps it for future annual inspections, as certain numbers of technical professionals are required to meet the eligibility criteria. You also cannot sign off on the design of pressure vessels. The most useful role at the moment is that of an intermediate or senior engineer; an assistant is only at a junior level.
