I work with instruments in a chlor-alkali plant, and I’m not sure how often online analyzers for ion membranes need to be calibrated. I would like to ask the fellow sailors here for advice.
The calibration of online analyzers is not the same for all; it needs to be carried out based on the actual operating conditions and usage environment. In chlor-alkali plants, the high concentration of brine has a significant impact on the proper operation of glass electrodes and ORP electrodes; if electrodes from brands that are not highly reliable are used, daily calibration may not yield satisfactory results. For products from reputable brands, with the correct selection and configuration, calibration is generally sufficient once every week to 10 days; however, if abnormal detection results are observed, more frequent calibrations may be necessary.
During normal production, calibration should be performed at least twice a month. If production is unstable, calibrate as needed, with no limit on the number of times
When it comes to brands, it’s best to use calibration solutions produced by the original manufacturer; those prepared by oneself can sometimes have issues
I work at Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical. We have three brands of ion membrane electrodes: 1. The Yokogawa DKK2613-5F model from Japan; 2. Mettler Toledo. For Yokogawa electrodes, the electrodes need to be replaced once a year, the electrolyte needs to be replenished every half month, and calibration is carried out once a month using calibrated powder in bags. For Mettler Toledo electrodes, the electrodes need to be replaced every two years, the air needs to be flushed every half month, and the calibration solution needs to be added every three months
