I have an Atlas HAHH8-5 air compressor here; I wanted to try running it today. As soon as it was started, it stopped and gave an alarm. The alarm indicated a problem with the GEARBOX OIL PRESSURE – the oil pressure was not at 0.35 bar before startup. There was no sign of air in the system, nor was the oil level low. The oil supply temperature was also above the acceptable level, and the current indicator on the unit moved slightly. I hope the experts here can explain why~~
The original poster might want to consider the possibility of incorrect readings on the gauge; this happens quite often. In our facility, the interlocks related to the air compressors didn’t seem that severe, but they still prevented the units from starting; eventually, forced operation was used. However, things like hydraulic pressure are indeed quite important.
I checked the oil pressure sensor signal; the current value shown matched the pressure. I also performed a crank test, and no issues were detected. Now I suspect there may be a problem with the delay in the control program’s response to oil pressure alarms. I plan to report this to my supervisor and conduct further checks.
