Frequency control of the pump used for producing water to maintain pressure; there is a water tank (liquid level can also be controlled). Seeking simple solutions. It is best to have one pump in use and one as a backup. Should there be one or two frequency converters?

To prevent secondary contamination of the water in tanks, variable-frequency pump systems without tanks are now generally used for supplying domestic water under constant pressure. The poster’s system uses water for production; with a stable water level, the water pressure remains stable as well. The speed of the pump can be controlled using frequency conversion with PI control based on the water level in the tank. Install a level transmitter on the tank; the 4-20MA signal is sent to the control box, where it is then fed into a one-to-two converter before being connected to the two frequency converters.
Installing 1 frequency converter is sufficient! Set the power frequency/frequency conversion, and configure the pump switching. The disadvantage is that when switching pumps, the operating pump must be stopped first before the standby pump is started.
