As the title suggests, we need a reactor and a chlorine absorption unit; I’m not sure what materials would be suitable

The poster hasn’t clarified their requirements yet. For example, is there water? Are there any other salts? Temperature? Pressure, etc. . Pure chlorine (anhydrous) is not corrosive, but in the presence of water and soluble salts, ordinary steel will experience corrosion issues
Dry chlorine is non-corrosive, so ordinary carbon steel materials can be used. Wet chlorine, that is, chlorine with a higher water content, can use titanium material at high temperatures, while FRP material can be used at low temperatures. If we also need to take into account the solutions used in the reactor and absorption unit you mentioned, then a comprehensive consideration is required.

It depends on the specific operating temperature and the properties of the medium; if it is dry chlorine, carbon steel is sufficient, but at higher temperatures, nickel materials should be considered; If it is wet chlorine, lower temperatures can be used; plastic and fiberglass are suitable, titanium is needed for slightly higher temperatures, and tantalum is required for even higher temperatures
