I often hear people mention things like: the pressure of tap water is 5 bars, and the heating pressure in high-rise buildings is 12 bars. What unit is this “bar” actually? Kilopascals? Megapascals? Or... something else? Also: The current steam pressure is 5 kilograms. Does this “kilogram” refer to kgf/cm2?
Pressure refers to atmospheric pressure, right? Kilograms are equivalent to MPa, and multiplying by 10 gives the value in kilograms

It should be at a pressure of 0.1 MPA. Kilograms as a unit of pressure are not an international unit and are not recommended for use; however, it seems that in the natural gas industry (and I’m sure it’s used in other industries as well), operators keep talking about pressures in kilograms
What the original poster mentioned can be expressed using the following formulas: “1 atm = 0.1 MPa, 1 kgf/cm2 = 0.1 MPa.” All of these values are approximate figures, as is commonly said by workers and technicians in everyday conversation
One kilogram is equal to 1 bar = 0.1 MPa
1 atmosphere is approximately equal to 1 kgf/cm2 = 0.1 Mpa = 1 bar
