I have come across a shell-and-tube heat exchanger used in high-end hotels for steam-based heat exchange, and there are several issues I would like to ask everyone about: 1. What is the specific type of shell-and-tube heat exchanger used for steam heat exchange? For example, is it of the fixed-tube-plate type or the floating-head type? The steam pressure is not high and it is non-corrosive; which type of shell-and-tube heat exchanger should be used? 2. What is the typical pressure of steam on the tube side of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger that uses steam for heat exchange? What are the pressure grades for pipe fittings?
I don’t understand the purpose of asking so many questions. 1. Depending on your medium, a fixed-tube-sheet type is sufficient; the advantage of the floating-head type is that it can operate under high temperatures and pressures, up to around 450 degrees, and it’s also easier to clean. 2 The steam pressure determines the temperature at which heat exchange is required; the temperature of the steam determines the pressure needed. In cases of high pressure, it is better to use the tube side for heat exchange. As for the pressure rating, I’m not sure. I’m stuck; my fingers hurt from typing.
