The unit is equipped with a single-stage cantilever centrifugal pump. Due to the limited space at the inlet, it is not possible to install a drain pipe; however, the pump body has drainage holes. Is it still necessary to add a drain pipe to the inlet pipeline? (I personally think it’s unnecessary to add a drain guide, as the pump body already has drainage holes.) ）
The pilot drain is used for the filling pump. The pump body’s drainage hole is used to drain liquid. The original poster should judge for themselves!
Sometimes a drain line is added to the pump inlet pipeline for pipe warming. Or to drain the downcomer before restarting the pump after a long period of shutdown.

The entrance space is really narrow, but every time higher-level departments come for inspections, they require the installation of guide rails at the entrance. There are no regulations. If the pump requires heating, a drain line must be added.
