GB50160-2008 Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises, Section 6.2.2 states that “for storing liquids of Class A and B, metal floating roof or internal floating roof tanks should be used...” Question: 1. Does “metal floating roof” refer to the external floating roof, or does it refer to both the floating roof and the internal floating roof tanks? The experts at the meeting said it was the latter, but when I asked the manufacturers of internal floating disks, it seems that there is no such thing as a \"floating-cabin type\" for these disks; I’m not sure whether what they said is correct. 2. What is a \"shallow-disk type\" internal floating disk? It is said that this type has been phased out long ago, so it would be good to have a clear definition, preferably with a source ; Is the floating barrel type inner floating disk of the shallow-plate type? If not, what type is it? Is the inner floating disk of the buoyancy tank type?

The floating tank type of external floating roof or the arbitrary type of internal floating roof is the form that is commonly used nowadays. However, there are also problems: aren’t some external floating roofs of the tank-type?
That standard lacks terminology; it should first define what is meant by floating tank type, buoy type, and shallow tray type. In addition, the floating tank type should be further divided into single-tray and double-tray types, etc. All of these need to be clearly specified to facilitate understanding.

The metal float-type floating roofs and shallow-disc types you mentioned both refer to steel floating disks, which were the earliest type of welded floating roofs; such designs are now largely obsolete. Currently, modular aluminum alloy or stainless steel internal floating disks are used.
I would like to know which type of storage tanks require a nitrogen sealing system. Are there any relevant standards or manuals? Please advise, thank you! !
I’ve learned that most products purchased from outside are pre-assembled; it’s still the design institute that handles the design work or the welding
