During the shutdown of the distillation column, if the steam flow rate decreases too rapidly, why does the liquid level at the bottom of the column drop to a level lower than it is when the column is operating normally? Natural backflow – circulation water volume remains unchanged!
I’ve never seen the steam stop so quickly when the tower is shut down, causing the liquid level in the tower bottom to drop. . Usually, as steam decreases rapidly, the liquid level rises
When did your feed supply stop?
The feed is stopped first, then the output is halted, and only afterward is the steam stopped!
Is the liquid level monitored on-site or via remote data transmission?

Could it be that the temperature of your reactor bottom has not dropped yet while the pressure has decreased? Based on the relationship between saturated vapor pressure, this is a possibility.
