What is demineralized water specifically used for? I know that after further processing, it becomes deoxygenated water which is then used as water for boilers. Are there any other uses?
It can also be used in applications with high water requirements, such as rinsing printed circuit boards
For stainless steel heat exchangers, water must be used, and chloride ions in the water need to be strictly controlled; otherwise, pitting corrosion becomes very severe. Boilers don’t necessarily require demineralized water – sometimes softened water is sufficient
