I would like to ask everyone: when performing purging after the installation of equipment and pipelines, how should valves on those pipelines, such as globe valves and butterfly valves, be handled? Should it be turned on or off, or perhaps removed at certain times? Please help to answer!
It is generally best to remove butterfly valves, as their sealing surfaces can be damaged by impurities. Gate valves installed horizontally should also be removed, as impurities can accumulate beneath the sealing surface, causing the valve to not close properly. Ball valves, on the other hand, do not need to be removed.

Two methods: 1. Temporarily invert the gate valve, that is, turn the handwheel downward； 2. Install a short-circuit device, and restore the valve after the purging is complete.
Remove the valve to create a temporary pipeline, and reinstall it after the purging is complete
It is recommended to remove the valve and use a blind flange for pipeline purging. This not only protects the valve but also achieves the purpose of pipeline purging; moreover, blind flanges are relatively easy to manufacture
