How is carbon dioxide produced during the pyrolysis process? What is the mechanism behind its formation? Can principal sulfur inhibit the formation of CO2?
Trace amounts of oxygen present in the raw materials react with the coke inside the furnace tubes to produce carbon dioxide. Coke reacts with water vapor in a water-gas reaction to produce carbon dioxide. Sulfur injection cannot suppress the generation of carbon dioxide.
