Our company uses rotary spray nozzles for the drying process in the production of sodium tripolyphosphate, and a rotary polymerization furnace is used to produce the final product. Currently, during the testing phase of production, the density of the resulting product is low (around 0.75), and it’s not possible to increase this density. I would appreciate it if someone could provide a specific troubleshooting plan to increase the density of the product; I really don’t have any idea how to proceed!
Why then does no one understand inorganic chemical engineering?
Is anyone still making pentasodium? The theoretical ratio of disodium hydrogen phosphate to sodium dihydrogen phosphate is 2:1, but parameters such as the specific gravity of the slurry, whether the slurry storage tank provides good insulation to prevent crystallization and stratification, the atomization spray angle, the temperature gradient at the furnace inlet and outlet, the presence of deposits on the furnace walls, whether humidification is used at the furnace outlet, the wind pressure at the furnace outlet, and whether a vertical mill is used, all determine the content of type 1 and type 2 substances as well as the hydration rate. High and low density should be primarily determined by the slurry specific gravity and air pressure. The reason is very simple. I work with hexametaphosphate and calcium hydrogen phosphate; pentasodium seems to be the phosphate variant with the lowest technical complexity. In the phosphate chemical enterprises in Sichuan and Hubei, the pentasodium process is highly mature; the engineers are all from Nantong, Lianyungang, and Orange Star.
Reply to 4# Inspector: It depends on what kind of pentasodium product you are working with. Pentasodium is the type that has the most customer specifications among phosphates; it’s relatively simpler compared to calcium hydrogen phosphate

The rough-stage processing using the five-sodium method is already quite mature, but I have no experience in working on more refined details. I know what the density is related to, but adjusting it isn’t that simple; for example, adjusting air pressure involves many factors and can’t be changed lightly
The negative pressure at the furnace tail determines the residence time, steam partial pressure, etc. If the length of the furnace body and its slope are appropriate, it is entirely possible to change the temperature gradient, exhaust volume, residence time, and steam partial pressure while maintaining the main composition. If you’re not sure, the bulk density depends on the particle size. The earlier the reunion, the longer the residence time; the higher the vapor partial pressure in the furnace, and the lower the density. It can be crushed and mixed using a vertical mill to obtain pentasodium with different particle size ranges. What is collected from below the bag filter in front of the induced draft fan usually has the highest bulk density.
Are there any friends in the phosphorus chemicals industry? I work at a phosphating factory in Shifang, Sichuan, and I hope to make friends in the phosphating industry so that we can learn from each other. If you’re interested, add me on QQ at 573697488. No unsolicited messages please
8th floor, hello. **Have the standards for rebuilding phosphorus chemical enterprises in Houshifang become higher compared to before?** Shifang is a good place; Lanjian does a decent job. As for the granulation and crushing of hexagonal flakes, it was still done on an intermittent basis when I visited there in 2003. The girls are very beautiful; each one looks like Xie Na.
What is the current market situation for sodium tripolyphosphate, and what are its prospects? Our factory has phosphoric acid, and we want to develop this business area; could you give us some advice? Another point is whether a large amount of steam is required; I have plenty of waste heat steam here that hasn’t been utilized yet. Thank you! ! !
It’s better to use hexasodium rather than pentasodium. There are too many people doing it, and the threshold is too low. The profits are very slim. In Hubei, enterprises strive to increase their output by operating on a scale of over 100,000 tons, in order to retain customers such as Procter & Gamble, Henkel, Liby, and Naisys through low costs, high quality, and competitive prices ; Without a scale advantage, one can easily be wiped out by larger companies. Steam can be used for preheating the reaction mixture, maintaining the temperature of the slurry, providing steam for the pipes carrying the slurry, and purging the crystallization pipes. Additionally, when there is slurry on the equipment enclosures and floors, steam is used for purging, followed by cleaning with rags or mops. The amount used is small. It is mainly used for the purification of yellow phosphorus, phosphorus release, as well as in the thermal phosphoric acid process for phosphorus melting and pressing.
