What type of plug valve should be used for the flue gas pipelines in calcium carbide plants? (Please send a picture.) The temperature of the flue gas is around 600 degrees; is it better to use a pneumatic or an electric valve? Which one operates faster? Thank you very much
Electric is slow, pneumatic is fast! Ventilation fans generally use three-eccentric large butterfly valves; ADAMS and TYCO are quite good options.
Reply to 2# Lixuming5888: Using a butterfly valve won’t work; the temperature is too high, and the valve disc cannot withstand such high temperatures. Moreover, the price of butterfly valves is higher than that of gate valves, so it’s not very economical

Is it a steel flue, a brick flue, or a concrete one? Our original project involved brick flues, so we designed a gate valve on our own

I’m worried that the valves might not hold up under high temperatures. Will 304 material work? The actual operating temperature is over 600 degrees, while the normal operating range is 200–300 degrees. It shouldn’t cause any problems when the valves are open, but I’m concerned that they might deform easily when closed
