When putting forward a condition to the equipment team once, did they say that the design temperature and design pressure don’t need to be specified? Shouldn’t this be determined based on the process conditions?
I’m not sure what you’re asking about, but it should be the process conditions that determine the maximum operating temperature and maximum operating pressure, from which the design temperature and design pressure are then determined.
The actual temperature and design pressure of the equipment are determined by the equipment designers; you only need to specify the maximum operating temperature and maximum operating pressure. However, when a foreign party has already determined the design temperature and design pressure in the basic design or process package, you can provide those values and explain that they are based on process requirements. This is because, in many cases, foreigners’ design concepts differ from ours; they take into account a wide range of operating conditions, including various accident scenarios. Sometimes, the design pressure and temperature of the equipment far exceed domestic standards. At this point, process engineering is needed to specify the design temperature and pressure for the equipment.
