Our plant uses two conversion systems; if one is in operation while the other is taken into the furnace for coal contact inspection, what precautions should be taken during the cooling process? Such as air velocity, pressure, and bed temperature difference.
One set is kept in operation, while the other is cooled to room temperature using nitrogen; the catalyst is protected with nitrogen. A person wearing a long-tube mask enters the converter for inspection, making sure that no air gets into the converter.

The catalyst must never come into direct contact with high levels of oxygen, as this will cause a violent oxidation reaction, leading to a sharp rise in temperature and damage to the catalyst. During the temperature drop, the amount of gas returning from desulfurization was too high, which resulted in a low gas flow rate in the other shift system, a rapid drop in temperature, and large fluctuations in system pressure.
