The nitrogen content in our urea is very high, at around 46.6%, whereas the standard quality product has a nitrogen content of around 46.4%. A high nitrogen content indicates significant loss of ammonia, but our ammonia consumption is also very high at the moment
The theoretical nitrogen content of pure urea is 46.66666%. A higher nitrogen content indicates that the urea has a high purity (low moisture content), and there is nothing wrong with that. The high nitrogen content has little relation to ammonia consumption; ammonia loss mainly occurs during processes such as separation and recovery. Of course, if the moisture content of the product is extremely low, it is also possible to consider keeping it under control; as long as it is not higher than 0.4%, it meets the requirements for **first-class quality**. To reduce ammonia consumption, efforts must primarily be made in other areas.

A high ammonia consumption level can indicate whether the desorption and recovery process is working well; an analysis of the PV mixture should be carried out to determine the ammonia content in the gas. If the ammonia level is high, venting it would represent a waste, so it might be advisable to install an additional absorption tower to absorb the mixture again
