Do people create a pipe characteristic table before drawing piping diagrams?

Similarly, here we don’t produce pipe property tables; instead, we directly draw the piping diagrams, then calculate the material requirements and select the appropriate materials based on their properties. It seems really troublesome. I’d like to ask everyone: if a characteristic table is to be created, should it be prepared by the process engineers or by the piping specialists? ? ?
Under normal circumstances, piping technicians do not prepare pipe characteristic tables.
There must be a problem with the manufacturing process; even the piping specialists can’t figure this out.

The material property table is prepared by the process engineering team. It’s like when there’s no distinction between process pipelines; in such cases, it depends on which aspect of the project you are responsible for. If you are in charge both of the process and of the piping, then obviously you yourself will prepare it! It is beneficial to prepare a material properties table in advance; based on this table, a pipe grade table can be created, which facilitates piping design and material tracking. Creating a material property table isn’t actually that difficult; once you understand the process and the PFD, it’s easy to put it together. It’s even easier if the process package belongs to you, but if it’s someone else’s, you need to study it thoroughly first~~
The pipeline characteristic table is generated based on the process requirements, but the piping specialists need to add the insulation thickness in accordance with the unified regulations for insulation work. Practices may vary from place to place!
