What is the Adam module?

The ADAM module is a data acquisition card produced by Advantech; its functions are similar to those of DCS cards, except that the several channels on one card are connected to the PC via communication. By installing HMI software on the PC, such as Intouch or WinCC, it is possible to communicate with the ADAM card through configuration, thereby collecting data from the field or controlling devices there. All I know is part of Adam Card; as for whether there are other functional modules, I have no idea.
