It is normal for a small amount of NaCl to be produced during the sodium hypochlorite manufacturing process; however, an excessive amount may occur recently, with 1–2 cubic meters accumulating at the bottom of each reaction tank. The reasons for this include excessive use of recycled materials, poor cooling, and inaccurate mixing ratios of alkaline water – too much alkali is added. Since the tanks are prepared by the previous shift and handed over to the next shift, and our reaction tanks can only be used for current production and cannot be left empty when handing over shifts, what are some good solutions to this problem? In other words, how can we ensure that operators follow the proper procedures when preparing the tanks? -
Was the endpoint for chlorine addition with hyposodium not controlled properly? This kind of situation has not occurred on our end; as long as chlorine is not used in excess, this issue should not arise.
Reply to 1# ljyy: The endpoint wasn’t controlled properly, which means the ratio of available chlorine to free alkali is not within the acceptable range; however, this does not lead to an excess of alkalis and salts. I think it’s due to poor control of the alkali water ratio. It is recommended to check the alkali concentration recently.
