Two translations for “Temperature transmitter shall not be furnished with all temperature probes”: 1) Temperature transmitters should not be provided for all temperature probes. 2) The temperature transmitter should not be equipped with a temperature probe. Translation 1) Makes logical sense, but does not conform to grammatical rules (mainly the translation of \"be furnished with\" is incorrect). Translation 2) is illogical, but follows the grammar rules of Japanese. I was wondering if everyone has a deeper understanding of \"be furnished with\"; I would appreciate your insights!

For processes where the requirements are not very high, it’s sufficient to have on-site temperature display along with manual valve control; there’s no need to integrate everything into a PLC

First of all, it should be clear that it is the temperature probes that measure temperature; if there are no probes, then what’s the use of a temperature transmitter? The English used in technical documents is often misused; I agree with understanding 1: A temperature transmitter need not be provided for all temperature probes.
The probe should be important; local instruments also need probes, but not transmitters, I guess. It doesn’t matter who is worthy of whom. Look, it seems that all temperature probes shouldn’t be equipped with temperature transmitters, regardless of whether they are in singular or plural form.

"“Be furnished with” is a passive structure in a sentence and can be translated as “be provided with”; in other words, the translator’s version 2) is grammatically correct but not accurate. If a literal translation is desired, it can be expressed as this: Temperature transmitters do not need to be provided to all temperature probes. This way of expressing it does not conform to our usual style of expression; therefore, the phrasing on the 3rd floor is better: Not all temperature probes need to be equipped with temperature transmitters.
