After the maintenance of our factory’s air compressors in October this year, and after two months of operation, we noticed that the air output was decreasing gradually. The air outlet temperature and the temperature of the main unit all appeared normal. We replaced the oil as well as the air filter and oil filter, but the results were not satisfactory. We would appreciate it if fellow users could help analyze the reasons. Thank you
Clean the intake air filter; Drain water from the air storage tank.
It might be caused by the large clearances between the various components.
If it’s a small air compressor, check the exhaust valve. We’ve encountered situations where dirt accumulated due to the operation of the equipment at the valve, resulting in reduced airflow; things improved after cleaning. Another possibility is that the inlet and exhaust valve plates don’t close properly, causing some backpressure inside, and worn piston rings can also reduce efficiency. Conduct a check to determine the issue
If it is a piston-type system, check whether the intake and exhaust valves are functioning properly as well as whether the piston rings are in good condition. If it is a screw-type system, then check whether the meshing gap of the screws is normal.
For a reciprocating compressor, first check the pressures at the inlet and outlet as indicated by the instruments; if they are normal, then examine the check valves at the inlet and outlet. Next, check whether the packing seal has failed, and finally verify that the clearance in the cylinder is within normal limits
If it is a screw compressor, 1: the intake valve is stuck, with incorrect opening; 2. Check the valve control valve.

The air filter has been cleaned, and the intake valve has also been cleaned, but the problem persists. It is now suspected that the issue lies with the valve actuator or wear in the main unit; further verification is needed. Thank you to all the forum members
