In GB151, 5.6.2.3 b) states that “for composite tube sheets connected by expansion jointing, the thickness of the composite layer shall be not less than 10 mm...........”; 5.8.2.3 d) says that “composite tube sheets and heat exchange tubes can also be connected using strength expansion joints, and when the thickness of the composite layer is 8 mm or more,........” I think there might be a contradiction in these standards – 5.6.2.3 b) specifies a minimum thickness of 10 mm; And the meaning of 5.8.2.3 d) is that it can be 8 mm, or even less than 8 mm ; How to understand it?

When the composite tube sheet has partition grooves, the thickness of the overlay is set at 8 mm; when there are no partition grooves, it is set at 6 mm. This is how we have always done it.
Then the width of the groove cannot be determined according to GB/T151. What are the respective widths of the grooves?
For this type of structure with partition grooves, composite plates are generally not used; instead, a surfacing welding structure is employed. If composite panels are used anyway, due to the issue of the depth of the partition grooves, such panels tend to be very thick, which is not economical, inefficient, and difficult to procure.
