Currently, I have seen online that companies that do not produce glyphosate manufacture IDA and DSIDA. Is it possible for glyphosate-producing companies to purchase these products directly for use in their production? If not for glyphosate manufacturers, then what are these products used for?
Actually, the original poster has a significant misunderstanding; these are just different names for various production routes of glyphosate. Currently, in China, Huaxing Chemical is the representative company for glyphosate produced using the IDA method, while Xinan Chemical is the representative for glyphosate produced via the glycine method. Monsanto, the world’s largest glyphosate producer, uses the IDA method. As for why most enterprises in our country use the glycine method, it is largely related to the country’s resource conditions – since China has limited oil reserves but abundant coal, and one of the main raw materials for the IDA method comes from petrochemical products.
