Can softened water be used as the feedwater for a 10T low-pressure steam boiler?

Our company is going to install two 10T low-pressure steam boilers. Is it okay to use softened water as the feed water for these boilers? Our fresh water is from the Yellow River. I would like to ask the experts!
The quality of the softened water needs to meet the requirements for boiler water.
I think it should be possible; it’s best to test the water hardness.
It depends on whether it is a long-term or short-term use; for long-term use, desalinated water is the best choice, while softened water can suffice for short-term use over a few years. Alternatively, the frequency of use matters as well – for winter heating or occasional short-term use, softened water is adequate to meet the requirements.
