After the high-voltage cabinet is installed, what electrical testing tasks need to be carried out? I know that circuit breakers, microcomputer-based protection devices, and voltage transformers must be tested; but is it necessary to test overvoltage protectors and current transformers as well? Is it sufficient to have the factory test reports available? Do insulation components also need to be tested? Let’s discuss this – is there any relevant standard that supports these requirements? Please share your opinions.
It is possible to do so as required. During the handover tests earlier on, we also carried out CT turns ratio measurement; insulation testing is definitely necessary, and it’s a good idea to also check the polarity carefully, so that any issues can be resolved quickly in the future. (The original scope of work was testing and power supply) ; For now, all that needs to be done is testing; if the wires are connected incorrectly, that’s a matter of installation and has nothing to do with testing. Over-dividing tasks like this only leads to disputes. As for overvoltage protectors, it’s also possible to use them by gradually increasing the voltage in order to measure the leakage current and the voltage at which automatic recovery occurs. For these two items, for the tests, only the factory test report is considered, without carrying out any specific operations; however, the relevant voltage resistance tests still need to be conducted.

The above are only tests on individual components; in actual operational conditions on-site, ordinary small enterprises are generally unwilling to carry them out. Only electrical energization tests and single-unit tests under load are carried out to determine whether the product is qualified.
