The outlet diameter of a fire cannon: What is the relationship between the outlet diameter of a fire cannon and its water discharge volume as well as the water pressure? For example, if the water discharge volume is 30 L/S and the rated pressure is 0.8 MPa, what should be the diameter of the outlet pipe?

The opinion of fire monitor manufacturers is that, in addition to the diameter of the outlet pipe of the fire monitor, the spraying distance is largely determined by the pressure pump. Generally, the rated flow rate of the pressure pump should be higher than that of the fire monitor, and its rated pressure should also be slightly higher than that of the fire monitor; only in this way can the fire monitor achieve its rated pressure, spraying distance, and rated flow rate.

The outlet of an onboard fire cannon is equipped with a nozzle, and it is required that the outlet area be sufficient to enable the jet velocity to reach 30–50 meters per second (this is related to the physics of range and projectile trajectory formulas; generally, the maximum shooting height is half of the range). If the jet velocity is below this range, the range will not be very large. This flow rate should also be required for fixed fire pumps, right?
The specifications for the fire pumps that need to be installed in gas tanks are not specified in any standards. Could it be that the requirements for fire pumps in gas tanks are not high, and that only on-board fire pumps are sufficient for extinguishing fires?
