Thermocouple compensation wire

For thermocouple signals, generally the compensation wire is connected directly to the connector. However, if the compensation wire passes through terminals first and then from those terminals to the thermocouple connector, is it necessary to use a compensation wire for that section as well (from the terminals to the connector)? Is a regular wire sufficient?
Can the terminal and the card holder maintain the same temperature and keep it constant? If it’s possible, then it can be done. I’ve seen the property owner do it themselves on site.
A regular wire can be used from the terminal cabinet to the TC card, but a probe for cold-end temperature compensation must be installed in the terminal cabinet.
By adding a third conductor to the thermocouple, as long as the temperatures at both ends of the conductor are the same, the thermoelectric potential of the thermocouple remains unchanged; therefore, between the terminals and the clamping element, no compensation wire is necessary as long as the temperatures are equal~~~~
