In the desulfurization of semi-water gas, the high pressure at the outlet of the Roots pump causes the water seals in the cooling tower and cleaning tower to be broken. What methods are used to seal these water seals?
It is sealed with water; common types include U-shaped water seals, trough-type water seals, and small overflow water seals. The height of the water seal is determined based on the outlet pressure of the Roots pump. If the water seal in your factory fails to function properly, it could be due to an insufficient height of the water seal, an inadequate water level in the seal, or damage to the gas inlet pipe. It is necessary to carefully analyze the causes and find appropriate solutions.

Reply to 2# qsy: There must have been some special situation with the water seal flushing; generally, a water seal is designed to serve as a safety mechanism, just like a fuse in an electrical circuit. Generally, there are no good remedies once a water seal is flushed out. Our water seal is designed in a stepped shape, larger at the top and smaller at the bottom. When water is flushed, air escapes, but the water does not completely exit and flows back again. Additionally, replenishing water usually allows for timely control of the situation.
There are definitely no issues with the design; it depends on the outlet pressure of the Roots pump. In certain situations, when the water seal is broken, water needs to be added promptly to reseal it. What are the possible ways to add water? 1. Install pipeline pumps along the water pipes in both the cooling tower and the cleaning tower, so that they can be activated immediately when the water seal is broken. 2. Use another pipeline pump to supply water to the water seals at the outlets of the cooling tower and the cleaning tower. What are the advantages of each of these methods? Are there any better suggestions?
The method is to reduce the capacity of the Roots blower (make sure to inform the compression unit), and fill the water seal (be sure to adjust the liquid levels in the desulfurization tower and regeneration tank). Resume mass production once normal operations are restored.
The water seal broke, causing a large amount of gas to leak; we had no choice but to stop the machine! Find the cause of the water seal breach and take appropriate action!
