The designed temperature of the flue gas inside the boiler is 1300 degrees Celsius; it is required that the temperature drop to 50 degrees upon reaching the metal shell. What type of refractory material would be suitable for this purpose? Should refractory bricks or castable refractory materials be used?
It is not possible to use only castables or plasticizable materials; for areas that are in contact with flames, refractory plasticizers or refractory bricks should be used. In my opinion, the installation of refractory bricks is relatively simpler and more reliable. If possible, refractory bricks should be used, and as an additional layer, insulating materials such as aluminum silicate refractory fibers can be employed; Of course, the specific structure needs to be calculated before deciding on what materials and what thicknesses to use
Unless otherwise specified, clay-based insulation bricks with a temperature resistance of over 1400 degrees should be used on the side in contact with flue gas, while lower-grade insulation bricks can be used on the outer side. The thickness of the liner must be determined through calculation.
