Regarding the voltage drop of compensation wires

If transmitters are not used, do we take voltage drop into consideration when selecting thermocouple compensation wires? If so, how exactly should the voltage drop be calculated? Please reply, thank you.
There is no need to consider pressure drop; length is subject to certain constraints
