Dear sea friends, what are the differences between regular diesel and hydrogenated diesel in terms of properties and areas of use?

Conventional diesel fuels have high sulfur content, with many of their components having a sulfur level of over 2000 PPM. Hydrogenated diesel can have a very low sulfur content; currently, a level of 800–1000 PPM is sufficient, after which it can be blended with other components.
What about the differences in application range and properties such as freezing point?

Hydrogenation is primarily used to remove sulfur and other impurities, thereby reducing environmental pollution. Many refineries now have hydrogenation units in place as a preparation for higher environmental standards in the future.
Other than environmental requirements, there’s no difference in usage, right?
There isn’t much difference. The main purpose is to remove impurities. Some people have studied its use in lowering the condensation point of diesel; whether it works remains to be seen. Diesel of better quality is one that contains a high amount of n-alkanes, yet a high level of n-alkanes is not conducive to reducing the condensation point of diesel.
