Why do some turbines have a top shaft system when they start up? Why do some turbines not have a top shaft system? Are there any rules? Does the top shaft oil participate in bearing lubrication? Could that friend give some specific details? Thank you:handshake
Are you referring to the difference between dynamic pressure bearings and static pressure bearings?
Jacking oil is primarily used in large-scale units; when such units are started, lubricating oil alone is not sufficient to lift the shaft, and jacking oil is used to achieve this

The oil used for lifting the shaft is usually under high pressure; it lifts the shaft assembly so that the lubricating oil can reach the area below the shaft, thereby forming an oil film that provides thorough lubrication of the shaft bearings and protects the shaft assembly. 2. The top shaft oil is usually stopped within 15 minutes after the shafting starts to operate. 3. The top shaft oil system is not involved in lubrication.
Reply 1# tjdxz: It is mainly used in equipment for rotor comparison; steam turbines need to have their rotors turned before and after startup, and the rotor is lifted using jacking oil first. The tile that has been removed radially has two top shaft oil holes.
Lift the spindle when starting up to allow the lubricating oil to enter. The lifting height is extremely small; I’ve forgotten exactly how much
