Why is no flushing water added to the black water pipeline from the gasifier and wash tower to the high-pressure flasher?
I work for Texaco; let’s talk about my personal opinions! May I ask the original poster, why add a flushing pipeline? Then where do you think it should be added? And when would it be used? If you have considered these issues and have a good understanding of Texaco’s drainage flashing process, it’s not difficult to find the answer... Simply put, the wastewater flowing into the flashing system passes through two valves: a flow control valve located near the quench chamber and the scrubber tower, and a pressure control valve at the inlet of the flashing tank. When you think the pipeline is blocked, you can simply open the pressure control valve and the flow control valve to use the pressure difference before and after to clear the pipeline… In extreme cases, you can even open them all the way (of course, provided you’re willing to take the risk)!
If the gasification furnace has been shut down after operating for only a short period of time, there is no need to remove this section of pipeline for cleaning after it is shut down. I am concerned that black sludge may accumulate and block the pipeline, causing it to become blocked again as soon as operation resumes.
When we were designing it, the client requested that it be added; it’s too long on the pipe rack. If it’s not added, it can easily get blocked after parking
