Is it necessary to install a drain valve in the heating pipeline system?
Reply to 2# menglin2157: The heating medium is water. If a drain valve is not installed, how can the water in the system be removed? Especially, how to drain the water from it after the hydrostatic testing is completed
The design manual states that a drain point should be provided at the lowest point

However, an electronic automatic drain valve (which can also be used for draining oil) needs to be installed in the gas storage tank. Why? Because the saturation temperature of gases varies depending on pressure and temperature. Drying is also relative; in that case, it’s no longer a heating pipeline but rather a water pipe, haha. The design manual states that a drain valve should be installed at the lower part of the gas pipeline, and an exhaust valve at the upper part of the water pipeline – that’s definitely correct
Generally, a vent valve should be installed at the lowest point, which helps prevent freezing during maintenance in winter
Specify to release air at high points and water at low points! Although many pipelines are lacking, it is easier to operate and maintain them; it’s still good to have mechanisms for releasing air and water
When the piping system needs to be emptied, a drain valve must be available
Our company’s efficient, energy-saving pumpless backpressure steam trap can be used. Hangzhou West Lake Valve Factory is a technology-based enterprise that integrates production, technological development, and application services, and it boasts strong technical capabilities. It has a technical team composed of senior scientific and technical personnel from research institutions such as Zhejiang University. The production testing equipment is complete, and the quality management system is well-established. “The new type of Lee’s free semi-floating ball steam trap utilizes the patented technology of Mr. Li Jiagui (Chinese patent number: 91226542.6) ; ZL98225397 . 4 ; ZL98332492. 1) It is an energy-saving product manufactured exclusively by Hangzhou West Lake Valve Factory; it functions to automatically prevent steam from entering and drain water in steam pipelines and equipment that use steam. It is widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, printing and dyeing, papermaking, packaging, and hotels. The Technology Development Department of Hangzhou West Lake Valve Factory utilized Mr. Li Jiagui’s patented technology, as well as the excellent properties of the \"Li\" valves – namely their high back pressure rating and ultra-low leakage rate under no-load conditions – to carry out research and development efforts. As a result, a unique pump-free back-pressure closed-loop recovery system for high-temperature condensate water was successfully developed in practice. This system features a simple structure, reliable operation, low investment costs, and rapid return on investment. It has been implemented in thousands of enterprises across the country, with proven effectiveness and significant economic benefits. Our factory offers a complete range of product specifications, and is capable of developing steam traps for special operating conditions as per customer requirements. We also provide technical services, including engineering solutions for pump-free backpressure closed-loop recovery systems for high-temperature condensate. http://www.hzxhfmc.com
