Recently, the level of free thiamine acid produced by our factory has been high. Since we don’t have flushing water, we came up with a solution: adding water to the saturator while thiamine is being fed in. May I ask if adding water in this way can serve as a substitute for flushing water?
It shouldn’t be possible; if water is added during the discharging process but no acid is added, it will affect the absorption of ammonia during discharge. Free acid adheres to the surface of ammonium sulfate crystals, and the best approach is to carry out washing during the discharge process. If the acidity of the mother liquor is properly controlled, the free acid level should not exceed the limit.
Ammonia water mixed with process water can be used to wash ammonium sulfate, followed by cleaning in a centrifuge, resulting in products of top quality.
