In the shift heat exchanger, semi-water gas flows inside the tubes while shift gas flows outside the tubes; The water heater has the process gas flowing through the outer tubes, while the soft water flows through the inner tubes. There are many factors at play, such as corrosion issues and resistance problems. Take heat exchangers as an example: to prevent corrosion, there is usually a section of stainless steel pipe at the bottom of the heat exchanger, with semi-water gas flowing through these pipes, which helps to **reduce the occurrence of corrosion** ; Additionally, by having the soft water pass through the tubes of the water heater, the resistance of the water can be reduced. In our plant, the soft water used for the water heaters flows through the tubes outside, while the shift gas flows through the tubes inside; now there is a leak inside the tubes of the water heaters. . .
Of course, thermal expansion and contraction are taken into account; heat should be on the outside, that is, between the tubes, while cold should be on the inside. Otherwise, a heat sink approach would be necessary.
