I’m wondering how the Texaco refractory bricks replaced by water-cooled walls in Fengxi are performing now; does anyone know anything about it?
Help the poster improve their post; I’m really eager to know… Those who know, please let me know……

The water wall requires refractory materials with high thermal conductivity, and water is the best refractory material. Mainly, slag does not tend to accumulate in the upper middle part of the top-fired burner; therefore, the water walls in that upper middle area suffer severe erosion and scouring.

Using refractory bricks is indeed outdated, but it is reliable.
The impact resistance and corrosion resistance won’t be very good
Refractory bricks need to be repaired every time the furnace is shut down
