I have two questions regarding heat exchangers, and I’d like to hear everyone’s opinions. 1. When I used to simulate heat exchanger models, I assumed an adiabatic process; now I want to take into account the heat loss of the heat exchanger. How should I set up the model? 2. Can radiation heat transfer be simulated in ASPEN?

1. Heat dissipation losses cannot be considered directly, as these losses cannot be accurately quantified or simulated. But you can adjust it through the dirt thermal resistance and wall thickness. 2. Aspen FiredHeater is a calculation software specifically designed for heat exchangers in combustion furnaces, allowing for separate calculations for the convection zone and the radiant zone. This software is now included in the V7.1 EDR suite (Htfs+).
