Static grounding specifications require: 4.3.1 Pipelines shall be grounded at the points where they enter and exit the plant area (including production workshops) as well as at branching points. Long-distance unbranched pipelines should be grounded every 100 meters. 1. How do everyone understand the aforementioned “fork in the road”? Must all areas where pipelines branch off within the device be statically grounded? Why? There are too many places where the pipelines branch, and in fact no such device is installed for this purpose. 2. Do the pipelines entering and leaving the factory building also need to be grounded? Why? Hope everyone can discuss it?
It should have bypasses, branch pipes, and things like that. But generally, they are located at the inlet and outlet devices or facilities; II. Boundaries of explosive hazard areas ; III. Pipeline pumps, as well as their filters, buffers, etc., need to be electrically grounded; there is no requirement stated that junctions also need to be grounded
The question I raised is the exact wording from the specification. I know the standard practices for routine static grounding as specified in SH3097-2000, but I don’t understand the meaning of the original text in those standards. I hope experienced engineers will come in to discuss this.
