In practical engineering applications, large-volume diaphragm control valves are often used to regulate process pipelines. Why are pneumatic ball valves, which are smaller in size and more aesthetically pleasing, rarely chosen for this purpose? I would like to ask the experts!
From the structure of the valve, it can be seen that the diaphragm control valve mentioned by the original poster is a pneumatic globe valve whose flow characteristics are more suitable for regulation purposes, whereas the flow characteristics of a pneumatic ball valve vary too greatly to be suitable for such purposes. Therefore, the control valves we usually refer to are globe valves, while ring valves are not suitable for regulation and are generally used as shut-off valves in applications requiring quick opening.
