In large-scale chemical plants, apart from online analysis of conductivity and pH value, all other analyses are performed offline, which results in a large amount of work. Currently, environmental regulations are very strict; one company has installed an online system for continuous monitoring of wastewater, with the main parameters being COD and pH. Online continuous monitoring is primarily used for liquid phases, and it plays a significant role in the field of environmental protection. As far as I know, there have been many large-scale coal chemical plants put into operation in recent years, and whether it’s the Shell or Texaco processes, the water treatment systems required are more complex and handle larger volumes of wastewater compared to those used in natural gas processing. Online monitoring of wastewater treatment will become **mandatory in the near future; this is the general trend. In chemical production, safety is always given top priority. Online monitoring technology is a type of soft measurement that requires no maintenance and offers stable performance; it will undoubtedly play an essential role in improving production efficiency.
