Dear experts, our factory uses KAIWEIXI dump valve actuators and AIZHI’s graphite-enhanced asbestos packing. However, the internal components of the valves and the packing are subject to severe erosion. Which manufacturer’s dump valve actuators and packing do you use? What is the typical continuous operation time? Are there any good ways to reduce the failure rate of lockout valves?
Hello, I’m not sure whether you are using a ball valve or a disc valve. In the case of ball valves, due to their structure, there is indeed material erosion during opening and closing, which can even result in grooves forming on the ball. A disc valve could be considered; it has significant structural advantages over ball valves, and for processes designed using SHELL valves, one dual-valve unit can replace two ball valves. Its service life under the same operating conditions can reach 4-6 times that of imported products.

Could you tell me more about the specific details of using disc valves in your place? I don’t know much about disc valves. Why is it said that, due to their structural characteristics, ball valves experience more erosion as a result of material flow during opening and closing, while disc valves suffer less wear? Our check valves have proven to be very effective in applications involving water-coal slurry; the longest operational time recorded so far is over 2 years. The company that uses them is Hualu, and we also have a track record of successful implementations with Shell as well
